The Flood Family have resided at Clonfert House & Stud since 1748 and horses have been an integral part of life on the farm for the majority of the 260 years.
The present owner’s father trained a string of National Hunt horses from the early 1930’s until the early 1950’s having major success winning the ‘Galway Plate’ with a horse called Derrinstown. The following season finishing 3rd in the Aintree Grand National. He also trained more than 100 point to point winners. Hunters and Ponies have played a major part of the operation since then.
It is our ambition to ensure the best facilities are available to promote and develop young and experienced riders.
Our fantastic team at Clonfert is led by our general manager Alan who looks after our livery and Emma who manages the riding school. Together, they ensure every rider and horse receives exceptional care and attention.
